Eucalyptus oil is already known to have an impact on conditions that cause problems in the respiratory tract – such as asthma, coughs, throat infections catarrhal and sinus conditions.

It’s also very effective when used to combat headaches and migraines. All of these make eucalyptus oil a widely used product among aromatherapists and members of the public looking for a quick solution of their own.

Eucalyptus oil body products focus on giving us a way that we can use the natural curative powers of eucalyptus oil on the outside of our bodies. Eucalyptus has a cooling and deodorizing effect on the body.

It’s also known to have antiseptic and anti-bacterial qualities, too – all of which make it a great ingredient to have in a moisturizing cream. Not only will it moisturize, but it will work wonders on blisters, burns, cuts, insect bites and skin infections.

There are also a number of body wash products available that include eucalyptus oil as one of the major ingredients. They’re generally blended with some form of complementary oil, like lemon myrtle, which adds the cool and stimulating qualities as well as the antimicrobial and healing elements that the other oils don’t possess. The decongestive aspect of the eucalyptus oil is also released and can have a stimulating effect at the same time.

You can also get eucalyptus oil based shampoos and conditioners which will not only help to clean your hair, again in conjunction with other ingredients like extracts of rosemary and chamomile, but the medicinal qualities of the eucalyptus oil will help to condition and heal the scalp as you’re washing.

Eucalyptus oil is a very versatile substance because it can be used on both the inside and outside of your body. Not only can it soothe and cool your skin, but it can also help to sterilize it and start to reduce any inflammation or damage you have. When mixed with other essential oils, it can enhance the natural properties that they have and give you nice soft skin.

With a whole slew of full body detox products on the market now, it can be hard for the average consumer to know which product they should choose. In fact, many of these detox pills and supplements are nothing more than scams in a bottle. So, before you take the next step and order your supplement, make sure that they include these 4 ingredients.

Green Tea

Green tea is full of antioxidants that work to wash away toxins. It has a special antioxidant called catechins, and this is known to increase liver function. This is highly important when detoxing because the liver is responsible for cleaning toxins from your blood.

Acai

Acai has 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes. It is power packed with beta carotene, vitamin K, trace minerals, omega 3, 6, 9, and is considered to be the most nutritionally dense berry on the planet. It also contains fiber, which is imperative to any full body detox product.

Psyllium

This plant is rich is soluble fiber. It is often compared to oat bran, but is much more versatile. This works by cleaning out toxins and cholesterol. This can be found in a powder form, which is usually mixed with juice and drank to clean the colon.

Lemons

This popular citrus fruit aids the body in flushing out toxins and jump starts the digestion process. Lemons are very high in vitamin C, which is responsible for transforming toxins into digestible material.

All 4 of these ingredients are seldom present in one detox supplement. However, the benefits that these 4 ingredients provide are essential to any full body detox product. Whenever you are ready to purchase your detox product make sure that the benefits you receive are equal or more than the benefits that these 4 ingredients provide.

Detoxification or body cleansing has been practiced for centuries as a method to cleanse the body of accumulated harmful substances that produce a negative effect on individual health. Everyday harmful toxins enter our body as they surround us constantly. The two main problems we face are environmental toxins and internal toxins. Environmental toxins are chemicals and other materials that come from industry carelessness. These toxins have entered our food, water, and air. Over 77,000 chemicals are made in North America while 3,000 of them are added to our food supply each year. Internal toxins consist of waste products created by normal metabolic processes in the body. Here are a few tips on avoiding unhealthy toxins:

A firming body wash and a natural body firming cream that work took some searching.
I found three popular brands that you need to know about BEFORE you buy.

Dove Firming Body Wash

This product contains petrolatum, a byproduct of the gasoline industry. Dermatologists recommend avoiding the use of products that contain it, because it interferes with the body’s cell renewal process. That process normally slows down with age. We don’t want to make it any slower.

It also contains collagen, which is ineffective. Collagen injections work by “plumping up” the deepest of the skin’s layers. We cannot replace lost collagen by rubbing on some animal collagen. We have to support the body’s ability to produce new collagen with nutrients, which you’ll find in the best natural body firming cream.

I would recommend that you avoid the Dove product. It contains other ingredients that may be unsafe. For some reason, they include titanium dioxide, which has recently been listed as a possible carcinogen. Artificial fragrances and colors complete the reasons “not” to buy this product.

Borba Firming Body Wash

I was at first impressed with this product, because it contains colloidal oatmeal. But as a read down the list of ingredients, I found numerous ones that we should avoid, for safety’s sake.

Diamond powder is one. There are 454 separate studies concerning the toxicity of this ingredient and it has never been assessed for safety. I have also seen the ingredient in natural body firming cream, but it’s not the best choice.

Other health hazards in the cleanser include parabens, dyes and benzophenone (a carcinogen). But, the big no-no is triethanolamine, which is known to be toxic to the immune system, the respiratory system and the skin.

So, far, I’d have to recommend that you stick with natural body firming cream and the orange oil cleanser that I use. But, let’s look at one more.

Distinction Firming Body Wash

My only problem with this product is the added fragrance, but some people are not bothered by fragrances. Still tho, fragrances can have harmful hidden toxins. Since, it will be rinsed off; it shouldn’t cause any lasting effects. But, you probably wanted lasting effects. I can’t see how any of them would be very effective, if at all.

Natural body firming cream, on the other hand, can have lasting effectiveness, as long as it contains the right ingredients. For example, jojoba oil fades stretch marks, scars and wrinkles. Active protein peptides increase elasticity and firmness.

Certain kinds of kelp increase the level of protein in the skin. But, one of the primary reasons that a natural body firming cream is more effective than a firming body wash has to do with moisture. Moister skin is firmer. Soaps are generally not moisturizing. You might, however, try plain olive oil, as long as you don’t have excessive oiliness.

The majority of shampoos and other personal care products do not have their ingredients tested for safety before being sold. While it is unlikely that any one-time use of a body care product or cosmetic will cause any immediate harm, most of us use many products per day, such as shampoo, conditioner, make-up, facial cleanser, moisturizers, etc., and all these exposures most certainly will add up.

Did you know that pharmaceutical companies have investigated putting drugs into shampoos because the scalp is so thin that it readily absorbs substances that are put on it? Many other personal care products are put on our skin and stay there and are absorbed all day long, like moisturizers and lotions — do you ever wonder about their safety?

According to the Environmental Working Group, in the United States, the FDA has banned or restricted nine (9) ingredients out of 1,175 that are used in personal care products. The European Union, in contrast, has banned 450 ingredients for use in cosmetics. Hmm, that makes me wonder about the long term safety of body care products in America, how about you?

Some further food for thought: Cancer rates are now approaching 1 in 2 American men and 1 in 3 American women — this is up from 1 in 4 Americans in the 1950s despite huge expenditures on the “War on Cancer.” A lot of us think that these rising cancer rates are at least in part due to our increasing exposure to carcinogenic chemicals, often in small amounts that accumulate in our bodies over time. These come from our food, our air and water, household furnishings and building materials, cleaning products and personal care products.

Commonly Used Chemicals in Personal Care Products That May Be Toxic:

Synthetic Fragrances

Artificial fragrances are derived in large part from petrochemicals, not flower essences or other herbal products as many imagine. These petrochemicals release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that often cause headaches, skin irritation, nausea and allergies. Some are carcinogenic, contain or release formaldehyde, or are toxic to the nervous system. Many artificial fragrances also contain phthalates, which are linked to birth defects in the male reproductive system.

Paraben Preservatives

The family of preservatives known as parabens has recently been identified as xenoestrogens which mimic the sex hormone estrogen. This can increase cancer rates, especially estrogen-related cancers like breast cancer. They are widely used in shampoos and cosmetics for adults as well as children, even in many so-called “natural” products.

DEA and MEA Foaming Agents

Diethanolamine (DEA) is often used as a foaming agent in shampoos in spite of a study that found a link between cancer and the DEA and other DEA-related ingredients. DEA can also lead to the formation of nitrosamines, which are known carcinogens. In response, many manufacturers switched to cocamide MEA or TEA. However, according to the FDA, cocomide MEA and TEA often contain DEA.

PEG or Polyethylene Glycol

Polyethylene glycol (PEG), is contained in many shampoos, lotions and other personal care products. However, a report in the International Journal of Toxicology found that PEG often includes many impurities, including ethylene oxide and 1,4-Dioxane. Ethylene oxide increases the risk of uterine, breast and other cancers. 1,4-Dioxane is a suspected human carcinogen. Testing has shown that significant levels of 1.4-dioxane is found in around 1/2 of all personal care products.

High Quality Natural Body Care Products

If you are serious about reducing the amount of chemicals you are exposed to on a day to day basis, you need to search out truly natural body care products that are free of the above mentioned chemicals, as well as other toxins and carcinogens. A good place to start is to go to a health food store — either online or a physical store, and make sure and read all the ingredients on the labels. Many products that call themselves “natural” contain questionable ingredients like PEG or parabens that you will be absorbing on a daily basis.
